Reality Tour 2: California State Railroad Museum
Upon our return to Sacramento, Chad and I head over to the California State Railroad Museum. It’s on our list from Collette HQ of things to see.
Other passengers are heading over there as well. Mr. Davis and Mr. Ruehle are milling about.
The place is fantastic. What an amazing collection they have. Located right in Old Sacramento, this museum is a gem. An absolute must for train enthusiasts, its restored locomotives and cars will wow even the novice.
For me I was most impressed by the Virginia & Truckee Railroad No. 13 Empire. Totally restored and now
more an art object than a locomotive.
And the Western Pacific No. 913 blew me away with its clean lines and sleek design.
Both speak to a time when Americans built great things.
Enjoy a little Railroad Museum video below.
And check back on Monday as the Historic Trains of California Reality Tour comes rolling around the bend, heading for the station.
