“True That” – The Family Trip of a Lifetime
I just returned from the trip of a lifetime. Yup “true that”, as my daughter would say. Absolutely no doubt about it – trip of a lifetime.
It’s no surprise that I harbor a certain bias toward one particular tour company, but when it comes to my own travel, my vocation has no bearing on where I go… or how.
I wanted to take my daughters (13 and 9) to Europe and Collette’s London & Paris tour seemed perfect.
- It runs 8 days and the girls were out of school for the March Break.
- Single hotel stays in both cities allowed for a leisurely pace and plenty of free time to explore.
- Highlights included all the best attractions – attractions, I might add, their friends were sure to ask about when they returned home.
- There were even some supreme ‘bragging rights’ included, like dinner at the Eiffel Tower and theatre in London!
- A worry-free vacation complete with guide and driver. It was great having transfers included in both London and Paris and even better having the complimentary sedan service.
- Intergenerational – In no time at all, travelers young and old, all of diverse backgrounds and experiences, were mingling and laughing, having dinners together and telling stories.
Every morning we awoke, my daughters were eager to hightail it to breakfast to greet the others in the group. That’s when I knew I’d picked the perfect vacation.
Make no mistake, while the tour was great, our travelling (Yes we spell it with 2 ll’s in Canada) companions made this tour the ‘trip of a lifetime’.
A big ‘THANK-YOU’ to Mark Godin, our incredible Collette Tour Manager. He offered any assistance required, including one day taking some of the group shopping and others to the Louvre.
I’d recommend this tour or other similar leisure tours (Discover Switzerland, Wonders of Iceland to name a few) for families looking for something out of the ordinary and something that incorporates real learning experiences into an incredible vacation.
Also, check out Collette’s brand of Family Vacations, designed from a family travel point of view. There’s even a London & Paris Family Adventure.
