Experience Nature First Hand at Floriade 2012

I had to go back a way to find someone who could offer me some personal insight into what Floriade 2012 will be like. But in a company like Collette where employees routinely celebrate 15, 20, even 45 years of employment, it wasn’t impossible.

In case you aren’t aware, Floriade occurs for a limited time and only every 10 years. Mark your calendars for Spring 2012 – the start date of the next Floriade.

Never heard of Floriade?

I hadn’t either until a few months ago and, boy, was I surprised to learn that an estimated 30 million people will attend this world event that will run April through October next year.

One of the delights of Floriade I’m told is simply wandering through gardens created by famous landscape architects and creative artists. You’ll be awe-struck by the largest indoor flower show and find yourself amazed to learn how various plants, trees, flowers, fruits and vegetables can impact your life in a variety of ways.

Floriade, however, is not all visual. There are hands on activities as well like cooking up a meal in a laboratory and tasting  unusual fruit and vegetable creations! And how about testing your green thumb? You can plant a Dutch tulip as a lasting memory.
