Remembering why we celebrate the 4th of July
Across the country, most of us celebrate the birthday of America on July 4th weekend waving flags at hometown parades, licking ice cream cones, enjoying firework displays, and hosting or attending backyard BBQs.
Hopefully we will also take a moment to thank the men and women of our armed forces - and their families – for the tremendous sacrifices they have made to ensure that the freedoms we enjoy and which our forefathers fought hard to establish continue on.
Of course this is a travel blog so in celebrating the 4th of July with my family, I can’t help but think of the beautiful sights I’ve been privileged to see right here in America.
