Bio | Nicole Sullivan Bio: I’ve been writing for Collette Vacations since 2006. I like to think I’ve landed the dream job; my work takes me to Italy, New Orleans, Canada, Egypt… and a bunch of other ‘bucket list’ destinations. Education: Marketing Certification (present) at New York University; Bachelors of Arts in Communications at Boston College. All-time favorite destination? I love the romance of Italy. Siena and Lucca are my favorite Tuscan towns. Prince Edward Island inspires me most (unsurprising since Anne of Green Gables is one of my all-time favorite stories). And Egypt is a magical place where ancient wonders still stand and legends of Pharaohs past still hang in the air with every sight.

VIDEO: London & Paris

Two of my all-time favorite destinations in the world. I can’t wait to plan my next trip there. The last time I was in London was about two years ago, researching and working with our UK team. Last time (ahem, the only time) I was in Paris was… seven years ago. It’s definitely time to [...]

Why Travel Escorted?

I was at a wedding this weekend and when chatting with some acquaintances about what I do – and the kind of company Collette is (“it’s NOT a travel agency!”) – I inevitably answered for them the age-old question all tour operators face: Why would I want to travel on an escorted tour when I [...]

Just Plane Comfort

One airline recently made headlines when they announced that they will charge $8 for a pillow and blanket set in coach class for domestic trips and select international flights. The travel pack includes a fleece blanket and an inflatable neck pillow, among other items. This airline is not the only one taking such steps; its [...]

I’ve known Kevin since I was about four-years-old and it was my pleasure to pick his brain a little [...]

Meet Collette’s Executive Team: Part I

I recently sat down with Dan Sullivan, Collette’s traveling CEO (and, incidentally, my dad) –  to give you insight into his travel wishes, favorites and philosophies. Here’s a glimpse of what he talked about:
Most Interesting  Recent Travel Experience: I recently went to Vancouver during the Olympics (pictured, above).  It was such a cool experience – the energy [...]

Chilly Conditions at Passion Play Don’t Stop Audience’s Warm Reception of Historic Show

Just heard from our Regional Destination Manager of the Alpine region of Europe, Jeff Scott. His job has just gotten busier since the curtain’s officially up on the Oberammergau Passion Play in Germany. Maybe you’ve heard of it.
The nusthell: 400 years of tradition is back from now through October of this year… and it won’t be [...]

Packing Your First-Aid Kit

Collette’s tour managers log thousands of miles yearly taking guests to all 7 continents. Check out their basic necessities/first aid list to ensure a stress-free trip.
Warning: this list is as longwinded as my Uncle Erwin, but when traveling it’s all about preparation! You most likely will not need any of these things, but if you do need just [...]

Glacier National Park Turns 100

Predictions say the beautiful glaciers that complement the scenery in the Canadian Rockies might not be here in 2020. MSNBC Article relaying the story.
Global warming is on the minds of most, especially since the documentary An Inconvenient Truth aired in 2006 – and when you hear stats like this about a destination close to your heart, it becomes [...]
